Community Guidelines — Short

Post A Gig is a paid advertising board operated by Shining Light Capital LLC. Rank is the bid. You are buying visibility, not job placement, applicants, hires, or donations. Payments are not tax-deductible.

By posting or bidding you agree to these Guidelines, our full moderation policy and the Terms of Service.

Who may post

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Must use your real name or the real name of the business/organization you represent.
  • One primary account per person or legal entity.
  • We may ask for identity or business verification before a listing or large bid goes live.

What you may list

Lawful gigs, roles, projects, services, volunteer calls, and awareness campaigns.

Every listing must:

  • State who is posting, what the opportunity is, and where it is (city/state or remote)
  • Sit in the correct category and state
  • Be accurate about pay, hours, unpaid/volunteer status, and how to apply
  • Follow applicable law, including anti-discrimination rules for job-style ads
  • Make clear that money paid on this site buys advertising rank only

What you may not list

Do not post or bid on anything that is illegal, deceptive, or abusive, including:

  • Scams, fake jobs, stolen goods, phishing, or guaranteed-income schemes
  • Child sexual content or exploitation of any kind
  • Trafficking, harassment-for-hire, stalking, or non-consensual imagery
  • Illegal drugs, unlawful weapons, fake IDs, or counterfeit goods
  • Unlicensed professional services or unregistered investment offerings
  • Pyramid / Ponzi schemes
  • Adult sexual services
  • Impersonation of a person, company, charity, or government
  • Discriminatory hiring criteria
  • Treating a Post A Gig payment as a charitable donation

How rank works

  • Rank changes only after checkout is successfully paid.
  • The listing that is approved and has the highest settled bid holds the position for that window.
  • If bids tie, the earlier settled payment keeps the spot.
  • You may not use extra accounts, friends, or fake listings to manipulate rank.
  • Changing a live paid listing into a different offer can forfeit the rank.
  • Few clicks or no applicants is not grounds for a refund or chargeback.

How we review listings

New posters, high bids, flagged keywords, and reports may be reviewed before or after publish. We can approve, require edits, unlist, void a bid, suspend an account, or ban. Approval is not an endorsement of the gig.

Report a problem

Use Report on the listing or email contact form with the listing link, what is wrong, and any evidence.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local authorities first.

We aim to begin review of reports within two business days. False reports can lead to account action.

Appeals and refunds

  • Appeal a removal or ban within 14 days at contact form
  • Refunds are limited to duplicate charges, listings we rejected before the paid window started, or a confirmed platform error. We do not refund poor performance.
  • We do not settle disputes between posters and applicants about off-site work or pay.

Enforcement

Warning and required edits → removal and possible bid forfeiture → suspension → ban. Serious harm can skip straight to a ban.
